My sister and I listened to this record together over and over thirty years ago. We loved it so much that, when she had kids, she tried to find a copy. She finally located the book, and then was so desperate for the music that she tried to get me, a non-singer, to record the songs for her kids. Fortunately, all I could remember was "boodlehiemer, boodlehiemer, clap clap clap" so we couldn't do it. Her 43rd birthday is in two weeks, and I'm downloading this to send to her. She'll be astonished. I can't wait. THANK YOU!!!

Having read your blog, am feeling slightly daunted at the prospect of travelling out to Nagoya with my Mum, 2 and a half year old and 6 month old twins in October I'm meeting up with my sister currently living in Australia so am hoping one adult per child will suffice. I'll need both a double buggy and a single one. I doubt I'll be able to carry the boys on my front for too long. Having braved the tube in Mexico City in rush hour am well aware of the potential danger with little ones. I'm sure a double buggy will cause us a great deal of hassle! Do you have any advice on hotels? Will be travelling into Tokyo etc aswell. Any advice on anything would be gratefully received.

I love Yuna Ito especially the duet she did with Celine Dion. How many artist get to sing with Celine. She is one lucky girl. I really don't know why the single didn't do too well on the Oricon chart. I would think with a fan base of both artists, this single would propel to the top spot, but failed to do so. Anyway, as for the song Mahaloha, I remember passing by the park (Mother Waldron Neighborhood Park) in Kakaako and saw a Japanese crewing filming the music video.

Thank you for your honesty! We adopted our son last month and he was very angry when we brought him home. He is starting to show happiness after a month. He does have eye contact, but he had a hard time trusting us. Your post is encouraging as this stage will not last forever:) Thank you so much for posting! Many blessings to you and your family!!

Thank you for sharing this information on Japanese adoption!
This is also a very beautiful website.

My husband and I are Japanese-American also and went through some unsuccessful fertility treatments.
I am now considering adoption of a toddler and look forward to reading more about the adoption of your Japanese daughter.

Hi - I recently heard that Agency to Rescue children has decided to take some more applications. However, I'm not sure for how long, as the director was initially going to retire.

Netsato,
I am 39 years old & until very recently had never heard of The Silly Book, record or even Stoo Hample.
I saw the book for sale (new) in a discount store here in Tampa, FL. I considered buying it for my newly-reading 6-year-old so thumbed through it. I bought it because I liked the wording, plus the illustrations really intrigued me...it has since become my daughter's #1 fave book.
I proceeded to look in to Mr. Hample's other works and you can see that he has a few that he's written recently by going to http://www.candlewick.com/authill.asp?b=Author&m=bio&id=3031&pix=y , but unfortunately some are out of print.
Thank you for the generous MP3... I just went through a nasty divorce, so The Silly Book has been a bonding experience for my daughter and me and I can hardly wait to play the "record" for her on my next visit!
PS: My toddler girl will love it too, as will my 9-going-on-13-year-old daughter, who I can tell secretly loves Boodleheimer!

My husband and I are looking to adopt from Japan. Did you guys use an agency or did you do it on your own? If you did it on your own, can you please let me know how easy you thought it was? My husband and I haven't gone through the adoption process before. So, we are a little scared to not have help from an agency.

Thanks so much for your time!

It's a bit odd. If she's a hikikomori, what on earth possessed her to take part in a homestay program? I suppose that's just part of the whole puzzle though.

Thanks for sharing this.
