Bubbles Coming Out of My Head!

A few weeks ago my wife was putting our 3.5 year old son to bed. The in usual pre-sleep banter, the conversation went something like this:
Son: Mom, I’m thinking about something.
Mom: Yes.
Son: Can you see the bubbles?
Mom: Bubbles?
Son: Yeah, coming out of my head…bubbles.
…Long pause…
Mom: Is the ‘thing’ you’re thinking about floating in the middle [...]
