I am Japanese who is working adoption field.
I know why Ms ITO no longer on the list of Embassy.

She charges TOO MUCH which should NOT be the way for welfare.

She also doesn’t register agency in Japan, which is illegal to place babies for adoption.

Ito STILL tries to place babies, but so many US agencies said NO to take her refferel because everyone doesn’t want get trouble.

We are a prospective adoptive parents with a 4 year old biological son. We would like to let you know that my husband and I truly enjoyed reading your stories, the adoption process and about your gorgeous daughter. She is so cute! You probably cannot help prospective adoptive parents in detail as things have changed, but just having your blog here is super helpful and we would like to thank you for posting the stories. We are doing our home-study and Japan seems to be a country that may work for us. It will be a hard path, but we are ready to overcome the barriers!

Hi !

I read your story. We have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half and no luck. So we started thinking about adoption and my wish is to adobt a girl from japan. But of course that will not be easy. We live in Europe – Slovenia, and that is a long ride to Japan. If you could tell me how much were the costs back than for everything ?

Adopting is not stressfull like trying to conceive, but defently is more expensive.

Your daughter is beautiful… and if God finds us and gives us our own baby, we will will want to adopt.

I too am running into dead ends on the Japanese adoption front at this point. One American agency based out of CA told me that the Japanese agency they use no longer takes applications from parents that already ahve children in the home. which is unfortunate b/c we have 4 kids but are moving to Japan and want to adopt atleast one more while we are living in Japan.

P.S. I forgot to post that, I too heard of some agencies closing down their Japan adoption programs. However, our agency did successfully facilitate a dozen or so infant adoptions last year (all wonderful, amazing kids…though, I may be a bit biassed). So, there are programs out there for prospective parents.
