My 4 year old son is a wonderful big brother. He just loves his little sister and can’t get enough of showering her with rough-house hugs and kisses. Unfortunately, she is not always happy about being the recipient of soooo much physical attention. As my Japanese adopted daughter just turned one recently, I was musing with my boy what her first words might be. The conversation went something like this.
Me to my son: “Just think, soon your baby sister will be talking! What do you think her first words will be? What will she say to you?”
My son kind of shrugged me off and plainly declared: “Get off of me!”
Our adopted baby girl is growing up too fast! Seems like we just brought her home!

Hello, my name is Danielle and I work for an English-language magazine in Japan called Being A Broad. We target foreign women living in Japan and cover a broad range of topics to help all women ’survive and thrive’ here. Right now I’m doing research for a future issue where we will have an article about adoption. I came across your site while looking for information and was wondering if you and your family might like to be involved in the article in some way. Hi. Your baby is very adorable. I have one myself. I’m thinking of adopting sometime in the future but from the USA. Lot’s of kids need parents here in the states. My wife is not so down with the idea of adopting, but with time I’m sure she will.
